Kanye West Denies Wireless 2014 Booing!
During his set at the London leg of Wireless festival this weekend, Kanye West was said to have been booed by fans after spending 20 minutes of his 90 minute set in a long and passionate rant. Dressed in a mask, which he wore for five full tracks before removing, West took to the stage to perform a mixture of tracks, opening with “Black Skinhead” and featured renditions of “Stronger,” “Runaway,” “New Slaves” and “Bound 2,” among others. Filling in for scheduled headliner Drake, Kanye also made sure the crowd remembered Drizzy by playing "Trophies," "We Made It," and "All Me" during his set. "My homeboy Drake can't be here but we still gotta rep for him tonight," he said.
However, with the hits also came a trademark rant. According to NME, the rapper took a fifteen-minute detour during "Runaway" for an Auto-Tuned, freestyled speech addressing his frustrations with fashion houses, corporations, and other institutions with which he's been involved. He also talked about the L.A.X. confrontation that led to his arrest last year, marrying Kim Kardashian and North West.
While some fans were upset by the rant and left, most stayed and watched Kanye resume his set, playing hits such as "Good Life" and "Bound 2."
