MOBO UnSung workshop to feature award winning song writer Carla Marie Williams

The MOBO UnSung artist development programme is in full swing, as we look towards the second in a series of industry seminars which provide our MOBO UnSung class of 2014 with vital career knowledge. After a very successful first seminar hosted by PRS for Music, PRS Foundation and PPL which provided an insight into the world of royalties, funding and copyright, we move forward to the second session which will provide our UnSung artists with a songwriting masterclass.

The second session will be hosted by no less than Carla Marie Williams who is a phenomenal multi-platinum song writer. She has worked with artists and producers such as, Rudimental, Naughty Boy, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays, Dj Mustard, Warren Campbell and penned a host of hit singles achieving 9 UK top 10's to date with them.

Carla has a passion for developing and empowering young people and has been active in many community events, workshops and master classes with organisations such as Brent Music Services, Radio 1 Academy (Rising Tide), BBC Blast, GoldSmiths and Duke of Edinburgh Awards, to name a few. Alongside this, Carla has developed and managed her own acts such as RD and Melissa Steel, and is continuing to work in artist development for various signed artists.

The programme will help those who are aspiring to understand the basic ingredients of how to prepare professionally, have a long term career as a song writer and ensure their contribution to their songs / music is protected.
