Nelly Arrested During Tour

Just one week after blowing the roof off of the O2 with a killer performance, U.S. megastar Nelly and others accompanying him on his tour were arrested Saturday morning (April 11) in Nashville, Tennessee on drug and gun charges. Police reportedly pulled over the tour bus for lacking proper decals but after smelling marijuana, they continued to conduct a full search.

As the authorities searched the bus, they discovered marijuana, methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia along with several handguns including a pistol and magnum. The ‘Ride Wit Me’ rapper was released from custody after posting a $10,000 bond.

Scott Rosenblum, an attorney representing Nelly, issued a statement following the incident.

"Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee. In fact there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."

Now we understand the law is the law but we’re hoping Nelly comes out of this alright because after seeing him perform live at Indigo at the O2 last week, we want him to come back!

Wearing a black leather jacket, a white tee, a snapback and sunglasses Nelly came on stage to perform his 1st track “Party People”. The crowd went crazy!

What makes this even more impressive because we should not forget: Nelly hasn’t released an album that’s charted in the UK top 50 since 2008 (“Brass Knuckles”) but still managed to stay one of the world’s most popular RnB artists with songs like “Hot In Herre” which was - if you ask me - the crowd’s favourite.

But of course, the crowd also went wild when Nelly sang “Ride Wit Me” – and everyone sang the lyrics with him! He chose four lucky girls to come to the stage when he performed the slow dance tracks ‘My Place’, ‘Over and Over’ while dancing with and for them. One of the ladies got to sing (or rather lipsync) the chorus in ‘Dilemma’ originally sang by Kelly Rowland. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but it worked!

Watch his “Shake Ya” performance below…

He closed the show with 'Just A Dream' and the journey through the last 15 years was over and literally just a dream.

Although to be honest his latest albums haven’t been the been the biggest sellers in the UK, Nelly was able to take everyone at Indigo at the O2 on a journey through the last 15 years – a lot of people growing up with his music. His songs are the ones that even after years of not hearing them, you suddenly find yourself remembering every single lyric.

After experiencing a great atmosphere at the gig really, it makes us wish he would release something new. So please Nelly, we want more!
