Stormzy, Kwabs, George The Poet And Novelist Make BBC Sound Of 2015 Longlist

The BBC Sound of 2015 list has been revealed! 15 up & coming acts have been selected by 140 music industry tastemakers as the ones to watch for the year ahead and the list includes a number of names you may have previously heard of. Included in the long list this year are a number of MOBO nominated artists and winners, including Stormzy, Kwabs and Novelist.

The top five acts will be announced daily from Monday, January 5 onwards by BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens as he sits in for Nick Grimshaw on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show.

George Ergatoudis - head of music for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra - said: "If you want to embark on a journey into the future of music, BBC Music's Sound Of 2015 [list] is a brilliant starting point.

"With around 140 of the UK's key tastemakers taking part, the longlist is wide-ranging, including grime artists, singer-songwriters, an electro-pop band, a garage punk duo and a poet amongst others. It's a list full of talent and promise and I very much look forward to seeing how each artist's story unfolds over the coming year."

Previous winners have included Sam Smith, Adele and Jessie J. George The Poet has also been shortlisted for the 2015 Critics' Choice Brit Award.
