Earlier this year, Rihanna and Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) shared a joint photo on Instagram which instantly led fans to speculate on if the pair were working on a secret joint project. Well, it looks like fans may finally have their answer as it has just been revealed that the musicians will co-star in a new film called Guava Island.
A trailer, which debuted during Glover’s second annual Pharos festival in New Zeland over the weekend – a festival described as “a gathering of the five intuitives of the human experience: tribe, ritual, experience abstraction, architecture, language” – opens with Glover singing and playing the guitar. Rihanna plays his girlfriend and partner-in-crime. The film will also feature Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie, as well having longtime collaborator Hiro Murai (“This Is America”) serving as director.
