Having given a platform to so much emerging talent which has then gone on to achieve global and commercial success is something to be proud of. We will continue to build a positive legacy that can be enjoyed by various generations to come. There has never been a more thrilling time in music than now so I look forward to making some exciting talent announcements in the lead up to the show.

The MOBO Awards were established in 1996 by Kanya King MBE to recognise the outstanding achievements of artists in musical genres ranging from soul and reggae to hip hop, grime and afrobeats. It is one of Europe’s leading urban music brands and now in its 21st year, the awards are a celebration of top musical achievements.

Over the years, MOBO has evolved into an all-year round movement supporting emerging as well as established talent across various musical and other creative genres as it pursues its mission to create more opportunities and platforms for talent that might otherwise go unnoticed.

For many artists, especially those who are independent, the MOBO Awards exemplifies success through struggle and hard work and is a point of reference for enterprising achievement.

Via our talent development programme and fellowships MOBO empowers and nurtures emerging talent through understanding different elements of the industry which is key for a successful career, not just in the music industry, but the creative industry as a whole.
